Back-to-School Organizational Tips
Whether your kids want to believe it or not, school is right around the corner.
Not only is it time for your kids to head back to school, it’s also time for parents to get in that mindset too!
From school lunches to homework stations and after-school activities, organization is an absolute must to stay ahead of the game and be ready for any curveball that’s thrown at you during the school year.
In today’s blog, we’re offering you four back-to-school organizational tips that will help you prepare before the first school bell rings.
- Create a bulletin board that outlines your entire week. On this bulletin board, you’ll write down every activity and the time of that activity for that week. This will help you see your week laid out right in front of you so that you can plan accordingly. Planning ahead helps you and your kids prepare. You know what they say, “Fail to prepare, prepare to fail!” Since we’re talking about school, failing grades aren’t acceptable for organization either!
- It’s without fail that at some point during the school year your kids are searching high and low for a pencil in the house. Even though you’ve purchased what seems to be an industrial size bin of writing utensils, every pen and pencil seems to have magically disappeared. Be prepared and create school supplies jars. In these jars you’ll have extra pens, pencils, scissors, paper clips, highlighters and any other item that seems to run out often. This way, if your kid loses an item, they’ll have some at home to replenish their stock.
- Packing lunches every day can seem like a daunting task. Rather than searching through multiple cabinets in your kitchen for the different components, designate a space where the lunchbox necessities live. This will include lunchboxes, thermoses, snacks, juice boxes, etc. This way you can grab the items you need and be on your merry way.
- Keep all important school and activities documents in separate file folders. There’s nothing worse than a big pile of papers that accumulates on your dining room table. Rather than have the leaning tower of paper, designate specific folders for specific documents. Be sure to label them so you can easily locate a folder when needed. Things always seem to change during the course of a school year, so if that’s the case, consider using our erasable labels to help you stay organized!
Keep these four tips in mind as the first day of school quickly approaches, so that you and your kids can stay organized throughout the school year!
